White_Funeral_Wreath

Dr. Alexander A. Esposito Sr., 69, of Todt Hill, a dentist who liked to travel, died yesterday at home.
Born in Brooklyn, he moved to Todt Hill about 40 years ago.
Dr. Esposito graduated from James Madison High School and Syracuse University. He was awarded a degree from the New York University Dental School in 1964. He was a resident at Coney Island Hospital before practicing as a dentist in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn for the past 45 years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, poetry, the outdoors and traveling.
“He was the most giving, generous guy I know. He was smart and a risk-taker,” said his son, Dr. Alexander Esposito Jr. “He was an impervious rock that we all could count on always.”
Dr. Esposito was a parishioner of St. Teresa’s R.C. Church, Castleton Corners.
His wife, the former Joanne Buonopane, died in 1995.
Surviving are Mr. Esposito’s three sons, Christopher, Alexander, and David; two daughters, Lauren Beys and Joanne Esposito, and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday from the A. Azarra Funeral Home, South Beach, with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary R.C. Church, South Beach. Burial will follow in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn.

Staten Island Advance February 23,2010

Though I haven’t spoken with the doctor or any of the Esposito family in about 3 years, much of who am I came from my 7 years of holidays, parties, and simple general bonding.  I echo Alexander’s sentiment; Dr. Esposito was such a generous man.  He welcomed me into his home in 1999 and never once made me feel like an outsider.  I looked up to him in so many many ways.  In ways, he was a taste of the true father I didn’t get to have.   Thank you, doc.  I still open Christmas presents and make sure to eat some kind of seafood on the Eve.  I always pitch in at parties.  And I never turn my back on someone in need.  I wish you well and it brings me great joy that you and Joanne will be reunited for all eternity.
